Biofeedback Certification International Alliance is an autonomous nonprofit corporation created in 1981 with the primary mission to certify individuals who meet education and training standards in biofeedback and progressively re-certify those who advance their knowledge through continuing education. BCIA offers Board Certification in Biofeedback, Neurofeedback, and Pelvic Muscle Dysfunction Biofeedback. To better reflect its growing global identity, BCIA changed its name to Biofeedback Certification International Alliance in March 2010 from its original designation as the Biofeedback Certification Institute of America.

The Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback was founded in 1969 as the Biofeedback Research Society. ISNR
International Society for Neurofeedback and Research (ISNR) is an international member organization comprised of people from various professional disciplines doing neurotherapy, neurofeedback training, and research. The ADD Centre
